Former 9th District Congressman Baron Hill is telling his fellow Democrats that he is running for the U.S. Senate.
According to the Columbus Republic, Hill made the announcement at the Bartholomew County Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner.
A formal announcement is expected later this summer. Also considering the race on the Democratic side is State Representative Christina Hale of Indianapolis.
Third District Congressman Marlin Stutzman and for Republican State GOP Chairman Eric Holcomb have formally declared they are running on the Republican side. Ninth District Congressman Todd Young and State Senate Mike Delph of Carmel are still looking at getting into the race.
