The executive board of the Indiana State Building and Construction Trades Council, the umbrella organization that represents Indiana’s Building Trades Unions, has endorsed unanimously the re-election of Governor Eric J. Holcomb.

According to council President Mark McCleskey, “The endorsement is based upon Governor Holcomb’s strong record of job creation, infrastructure investment, and worker training. As building trades unions, our mission is to secure work for our members and ensure that the work is well paid and comes with good benefits and safe working conditions. Holcomb’s statewide efforts have aided us in delivering these benefits to our membership.” McCleskey specifically cited the Governor’s Next Level Jobs and Next Level Roads programs as reasons for the endorsement.

McCleskey further stated, “We applaud the governor’s transparent, data-driven, and decisive management of the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. His decision to issue an executive order instructing IOSHA to use its ‘general duty clause’ to prevent the exposure and spread of COVID-19 in the workplace is a big deal to our members. That’s the type of leadership we can trust as we work to re-open and grow the Indiana economy.”

The Trade Council endorsed John Gregg is 2016.
