A move has begun to draft Ten Point Coalition leader, Rev. Charles Harrison, to run for Mayor of  Indianapolis.

A group has created a webpage called RunRevRun.com.  It calls on the public to go to Harrison’s Facebook page and encourage him to run for Mayor.

Harrison has filed an exploratory committee, but has yet to formally make a decision.  He was approached by the Marion County Libertarian Party to run on their ticket, but declined.

Harrison could not be reached in person this afternoon, but did release the following statement to Indy Politics…

“I’m humbled by some folks out there who think that I should consider a political career.  I’ll certainly listen and anything is possible, but right now I  am focused on my wonderful family, my church and the Ten Point Coalition.”

If he ran, Harrison would have to run as an Independent and would need to get at least 3,000 signatures from registered voters to be on the November ballot.

Former U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett and local businessman Chuck Brewer are the respective Democratic and Republican nominees for Mayor.
