Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma says the state may need to look at sunsetting its workforce development programs.

The state spends nearly $1 billion annually on workforce development, but employers still have trouble filling positions.

Governor Eric Holcomb has been working to streamline the process. However, Bosma says the only way to fix the state employment system is to put sunset dates on programs, as a way to compel lawmakers to come up with new initiatives before the old ones expire.

Bosma made the comments at the annual BGD Legislative Conference.  You can hear them in the Leon-Tailored Audio above.  It runs about seven minutes.
