Indiana State Police have confirmed an investigation into possible voter registration fraud.

Indy Politics has learned that more than a dozen or so suspicious voter registration applications have been turned over to the authorities from Hendricks and Hamilton Counties.

A State Police spokesman would not go into details but he says an investigation is “early and ongoing”.

However, Hendricks County Clerk Debbie Hoskins tells Indy Politics earlier this year her office started noticing problems with several voter registration forms and thought it would be best to turn them over to the authorities for further review.

Last year, 12 employees of the Voter Registration Project were charged with submitting false voter registration applications stemming from the 2016 elections.

Today is the last day to register to vote for the November elections.
