From the October 15th edition of “The Cheat Sheet”…
There’s a saying that yard signs don’t vote, but people who have signs in their yards actually do. We think there should be a new one: If you’re going to recycle yard signs, first make sure you’re running for the same office. Second, and more importantly, don’t take someone else’s out of the trash; paint over them and stick a disclaimer at the bottom.
TCS, what the hell are you talking about?
We’re talking about CD 7 independent candidate Robby Slaughter. Apparently, Slaughter took a bunch of old Raju Chinthala yard signs from the trash, painted them over, and slapped a disclaimer on them.
He gets points for creativity, but they look really, really, really tacky. But if the point was to get publicity, he got it.
Slaughter faces incumbent Republican Victoria Spartz, Democrat Laura Picket and Libertarian Lauri Shillings.
The Election is on November 5th.
