The Marion County Election Board is launching an investigation into Secretary of State Diego Morales’ campaign  for possible violations of Indiana election law.

The Board voted unanimously to look into whether Morales violated Title 3 when he used footage from a visit to the Marion County central voter count location in a campaign ad, although the visit was on government time.

Morales could be subject to civil and/or criminal penalties, depending on the outcome.

The Board also has subpoena powers, so it can call witnesses.
