As Indiana lawmakers mark the start of the 2026 session of the Indiana General Assembly, they could not avoid the 800-pound gorilla in the room: redistricting.
Democrats are opposed. Republicans are split. Governor Mike Braun wants it. Senate President Pro Tem Rod Bray says the votes aren’t there in his caucus. Speaker Todd Huston says the votes are there, but was non-committal on whether the House should go first.
