Republican Fort Wayne City Clerk Lana Keesling will announce this afternoon she is launching a campaign for Indiana State Treasurer.
She was elected City Clerk in 2015, tasked by voters with cleaning up an office mired in scandal.
Her supporters say Keesling is the best qualified for the job with an MBA, experience as a CFO, and is a proven winner in the state’s second-largest city.
They also say she has also proven herself as an advocate for taxpayers and will work for the public at the Statehouse, not the insiders or special interests.
Keesling joins Morgan County Chairman Dan Elliott, former Pence administration official Suzie Jaworowski and former White House and State GOP spokesman Pete Seat.
