With data showing that 93 percent of Indiana’s teachers are white and the number of black teachers declining, the United Negro College Fund and Marian University are partnering to recruit African American men to enter the teaching profession.
Indy Politics spoke with Leon Jackson of Marian University about efforts to recruit more black teachers, which they say will not only benefit students of color but students of over races and ethnic groups as well.
