A poll commissioned by Indiana Senate Democrats shows the race between incumbent Republican State Senator Kyle Walker and Democratic challenger Jocelyn Vare basically tied.
The poll, conducted by Change Research, had Vare at 41 percent and Walker at 39 percent; 19 percent were undecided.
Neither candidate is well-known–58% of likely voters have never heard of Vare and 58% have never heard of Walker.
Change Research conducted the survey of 552 likely voters from August 9-14, 2022. They were interviewed online, and the survey has a margin of error of 4.7 percentage points.
