Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett announced some major changes that are coming to the Downtown area.
The southwest quadrant of Monument Circle will be closed to vehicle traffic through the end of the year and the Georgria Streett will be redeveloped for more pedestrian traffic.
It is part of the South Downtown Connectivity Vision Plan.
When asked about public safety downtown the Mayor and IMPD said they will be increasing police presence in the area.
