Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has issued his first veto following the 2022 legislative session.
Holcomb vetoed HEA 1211.
HEA 1211 would have dealt with creating more broadband access around the state as well as put limits on state administrative rule-making abilities.
In his veto message, Holcomb said there was very little debate on both matters and said both matters should have been more fully vetted.
The Governor also received veto requests from A & T, the Indiana Farm Bureau and Accelarting Indiana’s Municipalities.
Indiana lawmakers must now decide whether to override the Governor’s veto, which would take a simple majority in both chambers.
