Indiana House Republicans unveiled their budget Friday, which they say includes more money for schools and public safety, while paying down debt and continuing to cut taxes.

The $46.7 billion spending plan increases funding for K-12 education by $500 million.  It also includes more funding to expand school choice, the Department of Corrections as well as public safety.

House Ways and Means Chairman Jeff Thompson says the GOP budget is about $500 million more than Governor Mike Braun’s.  It also eliminates Braun’s tax cuts.

You can hear Thompson in the Leon-Tailored audio above.

It runs for about eight minutes.
