As the federal government shutdown continues to impact economically challenged families, Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is taking proactive steps to ensure students and their loved ones have access to essential resources.
The district has launched a dedicated web page listing schools that operate food pantries and outlining community locations where families can pick up food boxes. IPS is also working closely with partners such as Gleaners Food Bank to maintain a steady supply of nutritious food items.
To make sure no family is left uninformed, IPS is using multiple communication channels—including School Messenger alerts, social media platforms, and school newsletters—to share details about available food resources.
