Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett Thursday signed a City-County Council ordinance calling for an independent investigation into the allegations of sexual misconduct reportedly committed by his former Chief of Staff, Thomas Cook.
Cook is accused of engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior while he was the Mayor’s Chief of Staff and while he worked on Higsett’s re-election campaign.
The Mayor said city employees should have a safe work environment as well as a confidential place to report bad behavior.
The Mayor would not go into a lot of details regarding the allegations, saying it would be inappropriate while the investigation is continuing.
You can hear Hogsett in the Leon-Tailored Audio.
The news conference runs approximately 30 minutes.
