Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and Dr. Virginia Cain of the Marion County Health Department have announced new restrictions to address the growing number of COVID-19 cases, particularly among young people.
At a virtual news conference today, they announced the following restrictions…
- Bars and nightclubs will be closed through at least Aug. 12.
- Restaurants will be allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity, but restaurants must close between midnight and 5 a.m. Outdoor seatings can continue.
- Personal services such as hair salons nail parlors will be by appointment only.
- Gyms will be allowed to operate at 25% capacity.
The order goes into effect Friday at 5 p.m.
The city and public health departments are working with schools and sporting events on when they can open and go forward.
