Indiana’s 6th District Congressman is officially getting into the race for the U.S. Senate.
Luke Messer announced on his Twitter account this morning “We’re in”.
A formal announcement is expected on August 12th at his annual family picnic event.
He will likely take on 4th District Congressman Todd Rokita in the Republican primary. Rokita has not formally declared, but has hired a campaign manager with statewide experience.
An internal poll by the Messer team had the two statistically tied with each other.
The winner will face Democrat Joe Donnelly in the general election.
