The mayors of Indianapolis and Lawrence are facing internal strife from members of their own party.

Indy Politics has learned that a group of precinct committeemen has drafted a letter to Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett asking him to step down.

The committeemen apparently have an issue with Hogsett’s management style, which was described as “difficult” and “challenging.”

They want the Mayor to step down, and City-County President Vop Osili to take his place.  They believe it will be easier for Osili to run as an incumbent.

The 25th floor has confirmed the Mayor did receive the letter but has no intent of stepping down.

Meanwhile, in Lawrence, some of Mayor Deborah Whitfield’s recent purchases have angered the Democrat-controlled Lawrence City Council.

Those expenditures included remodelling her office, buying a new vehicle, installing a sign in the parking lot, and giving her a dedicated parking spot.
