With all the talk across the country about police and criminal justice reform, Indy Politics decided to speak with David Harris, University of Pittsburg Criminal Law Professor.
Harris wrote the book, “A City Divided: Race, Fear and the Law in Police Confrontations”. It uses the story of an incident of police violence involving a young black HS honors student to examine why these catastrophes keep happening, and what we can do to stop it.
Harris is also an appointed member of the Mayor’s Community Task Force on Police Reform here in Pittsburgh, working in the wake of George Floyd’s death to chart the path forward for our police.
The Leon-Tailored Audio discussion runs for about 18 minutes.
