The Chief of Staff for the Indiana Department of Revenue has been dismissed from her job.
According to the State Personnel Department, Valerie Horvath was terminated from IDOR on Monday for “unprofessional and inappropriate behavior not meeting agency standards.”
The spokesperson for the department could not go into more detail because Horvath has 30 days to appeal her termination.
Horvath has been with the agency since January, prior to that she at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
Officials say the Chief of Staff position is not immediately being refilled and responsibilities of the position have been reassigned to other agency leadership.
Horvath’s termination is not expected to impact the multi-million dollar overhaul of the department’s computer system which is considered outdated and inefficient.
