State officials are disputing claims by activists that logging in Yellowwood State Forest will harm the environment.
There have been protests over the removal of the some of the older trees in Yellowwood, and some state lawmakers are proposing putting limits on how much logging can take place.
However, officials with the Department of Natural Resources say the removal of some of the trees is necessary to keep the entire forest healthy.
Indy Politics spoke with Cameron Clark, the head of the agency and John Seifert the Director of the Division of Forestry.
