Boone County Republican Dr. Chuck Dietzen launched his campaign for U.S. Congress to serve Indiana’s 5th Congressional District. The news follows Congresswoman Susan Brook’s announcement that she will not seek another term in the U.S. House.
“I want to serve the community that has given me extraordinary opportunities to make a difference in the lives of people here and all over the world,” said Dietzen. “I want to make sure we make healthcare work for patients, and socialized medicine does not work. I want to ensure our families and communities thrive – to do that we must protect our constitutional freedoms.”
Dietzen lives in Zionsville, Indiana, and recently retired from his position as Chief of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.
He is the founder of, and a volunteer for, Timmy Global Health, an Indianapolis based nonprofit that has worked to expand healthcare access in developing countries. “Dr. Chuck,” as Dietzen is known, grew up in Kokomo, Indiana, where his family fostered more than 150 children.
