As we wrap up another wild year in Indiana politics, I want to take a moment to say something simple: thank you.
Whether you read us daily, weekly, or only when something blows up at the Statehouse or the city-county building, I’m grateful you make Indy Politics part of your routine. You’re the reason we do this.
I’m also thankful to have the privilege of doing the work I love — in journalism, law, radio, teaching, and everything in between. Not everyone gets to wake up each morning and dive into the chaos with a smile.
I’m thankful for my hot and very patient wife, who somehow puts up with my schedule, my deadlines, and my nonsense. I’m thankful for our two annoying-but-lovable dogs, a great family, and friends who make life interesting.
But this year, I’m especially thankful for another unexpected blessing: the numnuts who’ve spent the last couple of years defaming me.
Because without their brilliance, persistence, and truly world-class bad judgment… I wouldn’t currently be a paper millionaire.
Life is funny. Karma is real. And Thanksgiving is a great time to appreciate both.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday. Stay safe, stay sane, and stay grateful.
