As we first reported in the June 7 edition of the Cheat Sheet, State Representative Mike Braun is exploring the possibility of running for the U.S. Senate.
The Dubois County Free Press reports that Braun will know by August whether he will run for the office in next year’s primary.
Braun tells the Free Press he’s “kicking the tires” about a Senate run, saying his business background can help at the federal level when it comes to commerce and health care.
He also has the ability to self-fund due to his worth.

The two main likely contenders for the race are Indiana Congressmen Todd Rokita and Luke Messer.
Also being mentioned as a possible contender is Attorney General Curtis Hill.
