Indiana Congressman Larry Bucshon says he is open to a Congressional hearing regarding what opioid manufactures knew about the addictiveness of their product.
Indiana, like many other states across the nation, is battling opioid addiction.
More Hoosiers have died from opioid and drug overdoses than have been killed in car accidents. And a number of municipalities are preparing to file lawsuits against the manufacturers.
Buschon, who is also a physician, tells Indy Politics Congress should find out what information drug manufacturers had regarding the addictiveness of opioids when they became more mainstream in the 1990s.
You can hear Buschon in the Leon-Tailored Audio above. It runs about 13 minutes.
He also discusses Congress’ attempts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
