It seems that more answers lawmakers seek regarding whether to allow cold beer sales at grocery and convenience as well as Sunday alcohol retail sales, all they end up getting are more questions.
Indiana lawmakers held the second of a series of study committee hearings on rewriting the state’s alcohol code.
And although the usual sides staked out their positions, Committee Chair and former State Senator Bev Gard told Indy Politics that although she was keeping an open mind, she still had a lot of questions about loosening the restrictions on alcohol sales in Indiana, and said she wanted to hear more testimony from the impacted parties.
Meanwhile, Jay Ricker, owner of Rickers convenience stores says he hopes the discussion doesn’t get so weighted down that nothing gets done.
You can hear both Guard and Rickers in the Leon-Tailored Audio above; both run about nine minutes.
The committee will meet again on October 10.
