Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita may have at least one challenger at the state convention this summer.
Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings tells Indy Politics he is exploring a run for the office.
“I am considering a run for Attorney General,” Cummings told Indy Politics. “I am reaching party leaders and convention delegations.”
Cummings is currently serving his 7th term as Madison County Prosecutor.
In addition to being County Prosecutor. Cummings was also elected to serve as Indiana’s representative on the National District Attorney’s Associate Board of Directors as well as the Indiana Prosecuting Attorney’s Council Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Legislative Committee, Capital Litigation Committee, and Media Committee.
He has been recognized for his skill as a trial prosecutor and was selected to the faculty for the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina, for 13 courses where he taught trial advocacy skills to America’s prosecutors.
The Attorney General will be nominated at this summer’s Republican State Convention on June 15.
