U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly and his Republican challenger Mike Braun made their respective cases in front of a predominantly African-American and minority audience on Sunday.

The African American Coalition of Indianapolis (AACI) presented what it labelled a “non-partisan conversation” on the issues.

Both Donnelly and Braun discussed the Affordable Care Act, immigration, tax reform as well as free speech and second amendment rights.  They both took questions from the audience as well as a media panel.

You can hear them both in the Leon-Tailored Audio above.  Each candidate’s presentation is divided into three parts: their introduction, questions from the panel and questions from the audience. The forum was moderated Denise Herd, President of Herd Strategies

The panel included…

  • Deon Levingston -VP/General Manager Radio One
  • Jose’ Lucende – Vice President Strategy & External Affairs, The Indianapolis Recorder
  • Alison Bethel McKenzie – Executive Director, Society of Professional Journalist
  • Dr. Breanna Merritt – Senior Research Analyst, Indiana University School of Public Affairs, Indianapolis
