Two big items today out of the Governor’s COVID-19 news conference. Eric Holcomb is extending the statewide mask mandate and Dr. Kristy Box, the public health commissioner, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr. Box contracted COVID-19 from her daughter and grandson, who she believes contracted it at daycare. Dr. Box is socially distancing and working from home, meanwhile, the Governor and his staff who had contact with Dr. Box are all being tested today. They should have results tomorrow.
Meanwhile, with the state’s positivity rate for COVID-19, back above five-percent, the Governor said Indiana will remain at stage five and the mask mandate will remain in place.
The Governor said two many people have ignored social distancing which shows a disregard for the health of their fellow citizens.
