Indianapolis Republicans are tapping a local businessman and Iraq war veteran to run for Mayor.
Chuck Brewer, owner of Pot Belly Sandwich and Soupremacy in downtown Indianapolis, will run for Mayor. Brewer is also a former Vice-President of Sears Holding Company and has degrees from Harvard and Northwestern.
He served as a Lt. Colonel in the Marine Reserves and tells the media he will focus on crime and job creation. Brewer had originally filed to run for the City-County Council in District 23 on the south side.
Deputy Mayor Olgen Williams also tells Indy Politics he will run for the GOP nomination. Democrats are centering around former U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett.
Meanwhile Rev. Charles Harrison of Ten Point Coalition is also looking at running, but he tells us he will not run if Williams is the nominee.
