Come Thursday, July 1, Indianapolis residents will be free from most of the County’s COVID-19 restrictions.

Mayor Joe Hogsett and Dr. Virginia Cain said Tuesday that they are lifting most of the COVID-19 restrictions that have been in place.

That means most mask mandates are lifted and businesses can go back to 100 percent seating capacity.

The mask mandates are still in place for the airport, hospitals and public transportation.  Dr. Cain also says it will take at least a couple of more weeks to figure out  how schools will be impacted.

The county has an infection rate of under two percent and a 40-percent total vaccination rate.

You can hear the Mayor and Dr. Cain in the Leon-Tailored Audio above.

It runs for approximately 40 minutes.
