Indianapolis Public Schools is considering a plan to share revenue from its 2018 referendum with its innovation and charter schools.
IPS would give about $5 million dollars to its partner charter schools which runs about $500 per student.
Superintendent Dr. Aleesia Johnson says the district would strongly recommend the charters use the additional funds for teacher pay.
The referendum is expected to generate more than $220 million for operational expenses.
A decision is expected by the end of the month.
You can hear Dr. Johnson in the Leon-Tailored Audio above. It runs for about 15 minutes.
