A Marion County judge has decided not hold Center Township Constable Denise Paul Hatch in contempt of court.

Hatch faced an indirect contempt of court charge for attempting to stop an eviction recently at 742 N. Grant Avenue.

IMPD was evicting the tenant; however, Hatch’s attorney told the court they had filed for a stay and nothing could be done until there was a ruling.

The attorney for the landlord had argued for the appointment of a special constable to serve the eviction notice on the Grant address and all of their properties going forward.

Hatch’s attorney Roberta Ross had argued the judge should have recused herself due to allegations of bias against Hatch.

The court appointed Lamar Williams a former employee to serve notice going forward with properties owned by Streetlane homes.
