Governor Mike Pence has issued the first pardons of his administration.
The Governor’s office had come under some criticism for not issuing any pardons during his first two years in office.
The pardons were issued to 41-year old Hans Schmitter, 46-year old Marquita Braxton and 39-year old Stephanie Davis.
Schmitter was convicted in 1992 in White County for theft and receiving stolen property. He served two years and was paroled.
Braxton was convicted in Madison County 1993 for cocaine dealing and served jail time and probation until 2000.
Davis was convicted in 1999 in Lake County for theft, she served one-year probation.
