Wayne Township is apparently in talks with the City of Indianapolis to merge its fire department.

In a letter obtained by Indy Politics, Trustee Jeb Barton has informed the Township Board, letting them know he is exploring a merger between the Township’s Fire Department and the City of Indianapolis.

You can view the letter here,

Several township fire departments merged under former Mayors Bart Peterson and Greg Ballard.

If Wayne were to go through with the merger, the last two township fire departments left would be Pike and Decatur.
