Indiana Governor Mike Pence says his office does have the legal authority to suspend cooperation with the federal government on the Syrian refugee program  and he says current assurances by the federal government are not enough to get him to change his mind.

The White House recently sent letters to Governors across the country explaining the vetting process for Syrian refugees in more details.   However the Governor says he needs more before he re-institutes the program.

The administration has been sued by the ACLU of Indiana over its refusal to participate in relocating refugees.

You can hear the Governor’s comments in the Leon-Tailored Audio above.  It runs about 9 minutes.
