Starting March 4th, Hoosiers will be able to buy alcohol on Sundays at retail outlets.

The Indiana Senate today concurred with a House measure  which would not only allow for Sunday retail alcohol sales, but for the legislation to become effective as soon as the Governor sings the bill.

The Governor is expected to sign the bill next week, which means Hoosiers would be able to buy alcohol at retail stores from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 4th.

Bill author Ron Alting of West Lafayette says it was the right thing to do for consumers, and also says by keeping the bill clean and not a lot of amendments added to it is a model going forward for future alcohol reform laws.

You can hear Alting in the Leon-Tailored Audio above.  It runs about 7 minutes.
