Indiana Congresswoman Susan Brooks say her trip the border to see the conditions of migrant children and their families was overwhelming and eye-opening.
Brooks joined a bipartisan group of members of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce this week to tour facilities where children and adults are detained at the U.S. – Mexico border.
In a conversation with Indy Politics, Brooks cleared up some of the misconceptions about what was taking place at the border and she also noted there have been a number of instances where drug and human sex traffickers tried to claim children pretending to be their parents.
You can hear Brooks in the Leon-Tailored Audio above. It runs about 12 minutes.
