The U.S. Chamber of Commerce as well as their counterparts here in Indiana are throwing their support behind Republican Congressman Todd Young in the race for the U.S. Senate over Democrat Evan Bayh.
Chamber officials say they sat down with both candidates and Young was the better choice on business issues such as job growth and health care.
Democrats down played the endorsement saying Young had taken money from Carrier officials who were closing their plants in Indianapolis and shipping the jobs to Mexico. Young responded by saying Bayh had also taken contributions in the past from similar individuals.
You can hear Young’s remarks, as well as the representatives from the state and federal chambers of commerce in the Leon-Tailored audio above. It runs approximately 17 minutes. Questions from the media begin at about 12 minutes.
