This appears to be the time of year when Congressional seats are just opening left and right, except today it’s more on the right side of the political spectrum.
On Monday, 8th District Congressman Larry Buschon announced he was not running again. And 6th District Congressman Greg Pence has decided not to run for re-election.
The list of possible 8th District replacements includes State Senators Mark Messer and Greg Goode, as well as former Secretary of State Holli Sullivan, former Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and state Representative Matt Hostettler. .
Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, who is currently running for Governor, has also come up as a possible contender.
With respect to Greg Pence’s seat, we hear former State Senator Carlin Yoder may be getting into that race. Two other names that have surfaced are State Senator Aaron Freeman , State Representative Mike Speedy and State Senator Jeff Raatz.
