House Speaker Brian Bosma and Senate President Pro Tem David Long used Organization Day to say education and teachers will be a priority next session.
Bosma told reporters he has put together a “kitchen cabinet” consisting of former Teachers of the Year for advice on education policy. Meanwhile, Long says lawmakers have to combat misinformation put out by the teachers unions.
Both men say they want to make sure money gets into the classroom and adjustments will have to be made to the school funding formula.
