Indiana auto dealer Bob Thomas tells Indy Politics he’s taking a pass on running for Congress in the 3rd Congressional District and instead intends to take on incumbent Mike Pence in next year’s gubernatorial primary.
Thomas, who announced last week that he was thinking about running for either office says he decided on Governor because he thinks Pence will lose in November and that would impact the rest of the Republican ticket and could put a Democrat in both the Governor’s office as well as the U.S. Senate.
You can hear Thomas’ comments in the Leon-Tailored Audio above. He also discusses the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the state budget, and whether he would run as a Libertarian or Independent.
A final decision is expected in mid-July.
