The FBI executed a search warrant Thursday morning at the Shelbyville residence of David Finkel, campaign manager for former Indiana GOP U.S. Senate candidate John Rust. The raid is part of an ongoing federal investigation into child pornography.

Finkel, who is a prominent figure in Shelbyville, is known for owning the historic Strand Theatre and serving on several local government boards, including the Shelbyville Central Schools Board and the Board of Public Works and Safety.

The FBI has not released specific details about the evidence sought or any findings from the search. As of now, no charges have been filed against Finkel, and the investigation remains active.

John Rust, who ran for the U.S. Senate seat in Indiana, has not issued a public statement regarding the raid on his former campaign manager’s home.

Authorities are urging the public to refrain from speculation and to allow the investigation to proceed without interference.
