This April 4 will mark 50 years since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, TN.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr was in Indianapolis that day and he broke the news to the crowd at Kennedy-King Park, just north of the downtown area. One of the people there was local civil rights leader Dr. Andrew J. Brown, who was close friends with Dr. King.
Indy Politics spoke with his son Thomas Brown, who is now a retired pastor. He says he found out about King’s death while he was on the road.
You can hear Brown in the Leon-Tailored Audio above.
The conversation runs about 15 minutes.
