Republicans in House District 93 have chosen Dollyne Sherman to fill the vacancy created by former State Rep. David Frizzell who announced his retirement at the end of the last session.
Sherman worked for former Indiana Governors Bob Orr and Mitch Daniels, as well as Congresswoman Susan Brooks.
Sherman tells Indiana Public Media that experience will help her hit the ground running.
Her main focus will be on the impact of I-69 on her district which includes south Marion and northern Johnson Counties.
Sherman will serve out the rest of Frizell’s term which ends in 2020.
Sherman beat out six other candidates who were running to fill that vacancy.
