Less than 48 hours after U.S. Senator Dan Coats announced he was not running for re-election, Eric Holcomb, a former advisor to both Coats and Governor Mitch Daniels announced today his candidacy for the United States Senate in 2016.
Holcomb said he running on a platform that includes national security and job creation.
In addition to working for both Coats and Daniels he is the former Chairman of the Indiana Republican Party chairman and a United States Navy veteran.

No other candidate has announced however 3rd District Congressman Marlin Stutzman is a likely candidate to enter the race.
