Hoosiers getting their insurance through the Affordable Care Act marketplace can expect to see an 8-9 percent increase in their rates.
The Indiana Department of Insurance is reviewing current rate submissions. A final decision is expected by the end of the month.
Insurance companies have said part of the reason for the rate increases has been the pool of applicants is “smaller, sicker and more costly” than expected.
Below is a list of the current submissions. According to the Department of Insurance, the premium averages shown consist of a combination of catastrophic, bronze, silver, gold and platinum plans and within each metal level there are numerous plans with various cost sharing methods.
Where you see “new” listed below, that indicates the company was not writing ACA health insurance in 2016.
