With less than a week to go before the Indianapolis City-County Council decides on whether to approve a tax increase to expand mass transit we give the proponents and opponents of the measure one last chance to make their case.
The Council Rules and Public Policy Committee voted 5-2 to approve the measure that would raise the local option income tax by 0.25 percentage points which is $250 on $100,000 annual income. The measure now goes to the full Council.
Speaking for the proposal is Mark Fisher of Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce.
Opposing the measure is citizen activist Erin Tuttle.
You can hear them both in the Leon-Tailored Audio above.
