Jennifer Ping is stepping down as chair of the Marion County Republican party.
New city ethics rules do not allow anyone with city or county appointment authority to lobby the city and get paid for it.
Ping is a lobbyist and partner at Bose Public Affairs, however as County chair she has appointments to the Elections Division and Election Board.
Republican City-County Council Minority Leader Mike McQuillen will take over as interim chair.
Under state law, a caucus must be held in 30 days to name a replacement.
